Dr. Marissa Novack
Dr. Marissa Novack is originally from a small town in central Pennsylvania and completed her undergraduate training at the University of Pittsburgh. She attended medical school at Ross University and went on to complete her general surgery residency at Stamford Hospital, affiliated with Columbia University College of Physicians & Surgeons. During her year as a chief surgical resident, she was awarded the Outstanding MIS Resident Award from the Society of Laparoscopic and Robotic Surgeons. She went on to finish her training in minimally invasive general and bariatric surgery at the University at Buffalo. She has extensive experience using laparoscopic and robotic platforms and offers patients a variety of bariatric, foregut, and general surgical procedures.
Dr. Novack has an interest in global health. She traveled to Ghana in 2019 to provide surgical care to a local community. Throughout residency and fellowship, she has given numerous presentations at the local, regional, and national level.
Dr. Novack is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery. She is an active member and serves on committees for both the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Novack is proud to be joining the team at NYBG and looks forward to helping patients on Long Island.
